A look through my camera lens of DownTown Santa Ana’s Noche De Altares Festival.
I would love to begin by introducing this mexican holiday to all outsiders- Dia De Los Muertos, a public holiday that focuses on gatherings of family & friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have passed. A primarily Roman-Catholic tradition, but has now been observed worldwide.
The Catrina has become the referential image of Death in Mexico, it is common to see her embodied as part of the celebrations of Day of the Dead throughout the nation.
It was definitely an amazing day capturing and witnessing all the altars and offerings and most of all-the people who came out to take part in the heritage fiesta.
