Bowers Museum of Cultural Arts is holding an amazing exhibit on the Medici Family and its legacy, if you’re in the area be sure to check it out. I personally feel that times are changing and we’re all beginning to forget about these type of programs.
Too much television, gaming, social media, etc. is distorting all things important that make learning fun. Most events, galleries, workshops, lectures, & performances are inexpensive or most times free, and hold much more meaning then any modern trend or fad. Which ultimately end up boiling over and dying out.
Here’s a few shots of the tour.
There were the sculpted busts of all thirteen iconic Medici relatives.
Cosimo I, Grand Duke of Tuscany
and the last Medici to hold the family treasures, Anna Maria Luisa
Although they were a banking empire they were the pioneers to establishing art and literature in Italy. Commissioning and supporting master painters, sculptors, goldsmiths, etc. such as Michelangelo, Brunelleschi, Donatello, and many more.
